Travel tips

All Austrian motorways (“Autobahn”) require a so-called “vignette” toll sticker.

Tip: If you are coming from Salzburg via the A10, the navigation system might send you off the motorway too early and lead you across Obertauern and Turracher Höhe. While this is a scenic mountain route in summer, please keep in mind that not all children like the many bends! This route is also not recommended in winter!

The recommended exit is Spittal/Millstättersee. Turn left at the traffic lights towards Bad Kleinkirchheim via Seeboden - Millstatt - Radenthein.

At the roundabout in Radenthein take the 2nd left towards Bad Kleinkirchheim - Turrach.(Note: very small signs). Continue on the main road and go past Bad Kleinkirchheim (long street village).

After approx. 3 km (past the Wiedweg church) you reach the Turracher Bundesstraße junction, where you turn left towards Turracher Höhe.
After approx. 1 km you’ll be greeted by "Heidi" at the left where you continue on the mountain road to Falkert.

After 8 km, the winding road leads you directly to your holiday destination, the Heidi Hotel.

Coming via the A2 take the exit (312) Klagenfurt Nord towards Feldkirchen. Continue for approx. 400 m and turn right onto the B95 Turracher Bundesstraße.

Follow the Turracher Bundesstraße for approx. 15 km to Feldkirchen. Turn right at the second traffic light towards Bad Kleinkirchheim.

Continue on the Turracher Bundesstraße for approx. 25 km to Patergassen past the large crossroad.

After approx. 1 km you’ll be greeted by "Heidi" at the left where you continue on the mountain road to Falkert.

After 8 km, the winding road leads you directly to your holiday destination, the Heidi Hotel.

Take the A23 towards the E55, Austria, Tarvisio, Villach. In Austria, the A23 becomes the A2, on which you continue for approx. 25 km.

At the Villach junction (182), change from the A2 to the A10 towards the E66, E55, A10, Villach-Ossiacher See, Salzburg. Continue on the A10 for approx. 5 km.

Exit the A10 at the Villach-Ossiacher See junction towards the B94, Villach, Ossiacher See. Turn right towards Ossiacher See until the roundabout and take the 3rd exit towards Radenthein/Bad Kleinkirchheim.  Follow the road for approx. 20 km to Radenthein.

Take the A2 motorway towards Villach/ past Jesenice. After the Karawanken tunnel (highway toll) you are in Austria on the A11 towards A10/Salzburg.

At the Villach junction, change from the A11 to the A10 to Villach-Ossiacher See, A10, Salzburg, E66, E55. Continue on the A10 for approx. 5 km. Exit the A10 at the Villach-Ossiacher See junction in the direction of B94, Villach, Ossiacher See. Turn right towards Ossiacher See to the roundabout and take the 3rd exit towards Radenthein/Bad Kleinkirchheim. Continue for approx. 20 km to Radenthein.
